Sunday Afternoon stuff

I have done a lot today, ofcourse not the stuff I should have done like clean, take a nap, and clean more. Woke up with 3 hours asleep, went to church, stopped at Joann's, came home and sewed a skirt. Its a terrible picture but all I had to work with today was myself taking the picture with my cell phone camera. This is called the Domesticated skirt I got the tutorial here. I will post better pictures later in the week when the husband isn't hibernating.
Then I went to the grocery store with Julie to get some ingredients for dinner. I found this recipe at The post punk kitchen, she is an awesome vegan cook. This is Chickpea Rice Soup with Cabbage. I'm nervous my husband is gonna hate it and I did at first but by the time I finished the bowl I was like heck yeah thats yummy stuff! and healthy and vegan too! Now I'm sitting here eating seconds and thinking about cleaning....

Toasted Marshmallow Shakes!

Today was the first day I have ever used broil on my oven. I didn't know I could use it to toast marshmallows, I feel like the whole world was keeping this secret from me all these years. Well, that said, I came across this recipe on one of my favorite blogs Cupcakes and Cashmere but she got the recipe here. Me and Julie really loved these.

What I got at Impressions in Vinyl

Last week I won a giveaway over at one of my favorite blogs Young and Crafty The prize was $25 worth of things from a shop called Impressions in Vinyl its run by a lady named Michelle and she was so helpful and got my order out so fast, seriously I ordered on Wednesday, she shipped it that night ands I got it Saturday. I put a few pictures of my goodies below. The bag is huge, I love it, I had "JJ" put on it and its gonna be perfect for toting around all the kids stuff. I'm very excited about the possibilities of the chalkboard vinyl for organizing but right now I don't have a plan for them. The little kicking guy is my husbands he is gonna put that on his laptop. and as for the mustache, well that worked perfectly on our back door.

Pie, no.. cobbler? no... well F*** it, its dessert!

So today I remembered I had the stuff to make a peach pie, but then I couldnt find my pie pan, so my solution was to put it in a pot that is oven safe, doesnt have to be pretty just has to taste good. well I could only find 3 peaches...crap. so I added a bag of frozen blackberries from the freezer. Stirred all the pie goo together put it in there. crap, I put all the crust on the bottom so now I have a naked top of the "pie" so I crushed some nilla wafers and sprinkled on top. *fingers crossed* stuck it in the oven for an hour and I was afraid my husband would wake up before it was finished (I wanted to taste test before telling him of my adventure) Well... its freakin yummy and I ate dessert before dinner :p
